Latvia - A Baltic Road Trip of Culture and Nature

Spotlight On: Latvia - A Baltic Road Trip of Culture and Nature

Moving North from the Eastern Europe, our "Spotlight On" series takes us to the Baltic region, where we take you on a road trip around a beautiful and oft-overlooked destination: Latvia.

Riga: The Cultural Heart of Latvia

Begin your journey in Riga, Latvia’s vibrant capital. This city is a treasure trove of architectural wonders, from its Art Nouveau buildings to the historic wooden structures of its old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Immerse yourself in Riga’s rich culture with a visit to the bustling Central Market or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Daugava River before setting out to explore the rest of Latvia.

Sigulda: Adventure and History

Next, head to Sigulda, often called the ‘Adventure Capital’ of Latvia. Here, you can explore medieval castles like Turaida and engage in thrilling activities such as bungee jumping or cable car rides across the Gauja River valley. The town of Cēsis itself enchants visitors with its quaint streets and rich cultural life, hosting various music and arts festivals throughout the year.

Gauja National Park: Natural Beauty

Drive through the heart of Latvia to Gauja National Park, the country’s largest national park.
